Kerbside Service Terms

The terms on which Tellwright provides Kerbside to camera owners. They form part of each Kerbside order. Version 2026.1.

Last updated February 1, 2026

1. The service

Tellwright provides Kerbside cameras, their installation, connectivity, maintenance and replacement, and access to the Kerbside dashboard, for the term of the owner’s order. Cameras remain the property of Tellwright.

2. Ownership of Kerbside Data

As between the owner and Tellwright, the owner owns Kerbside Data: the images and reads captured by its cameras. Tellwright processes Kerbside Data on the owner’s behalf to provide the service.

3. Sharing

The owner decides which agencies may search its Kerbside Data, by the settings in the dashboard. The owner’s local law enforcement agency has access to the owner’s Kerbside Data from installation. Kerbside Network and National Lookup are offered during onboarding and may be switched off at any time. Mission partner sharing with other agencies is by agreement.

Once an agency with access has attached Kerbside Data to an investigation or a hotlist match, that Kerbside Data becomes part of the agency’s records, is held under the agency’s retention policy, and is no longer subject to the owner’s settings.

4. Retention

Kerbside Data is deleted 30 days after capture unless the owner sets a different period in the dashboard, subject to section 3 and to the law. Backups are overwritten within 35 days of deletion.

5. Tellwright’s rights in Service Data

Tellwright may collect and use data about the operation of the service, including camera health, connectivity, image quality and read accuracy, and may create De-identified Data from Kerbside Data. Tellwright owns Service Data and De-identified Data and may use them, during and after the term, to operate, maintain, secure and improve Kerbside and Tellwright’s other products and services, including to develop and train models.

De-identified Data means data from which plate characters have been removed or replaced with a persistent pseudonymous identifier, including vehicle movement, traffic and pattern-of-life data, and aggregates of it. De-identified Data is not Kerbside Data and is not subject to the owner’s retention settings.

6. Owner responsibilities

The owner is responsible for obtaining any permit, consent or approval needed to place cameras, for any notice to the public the law requires, and for its sharing decisions.

7. Term and termination

Each order runs for the term stated in it and renews for successive one-year terms unless either party gives notice at least 60 days before renewal. On termination Tellwright removes its cameras and deletes the owner’s Kerbside Data within 30 days, except Kerbside Data attached to an investigation under section 3. Section 5 survives termination.

8. Governing law

For government owners, the law of the owner’s state. For all other owners, the law of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
