— Tellwright Systems, Inc. today announced that more than 30,000 Kerbside community safety cameras are now installed in 1,912 communities in 36 states, reading more than 1.8 billion vehicles a month.

More than 80 percent of Kerbside cameras are owned by communities and businesses rather than by police departments. Each owner chooses which agencies may see its cameras’ reads, and most share with their local department and with neighboring agencies through Kerbside Network.

“A stolen car doesn’t stop at the town line, and neither should the information that helps recover it,” said Damon Pruett, chief executive officer of Tellwright. “Every community that joins makes every other community safer.”

In the twelve months to June 30, agencies using Kerbside reported 21,406 stolen vehicles recovered with the help of a Kerbside read.
