— Tellwright Systems, Inc. today announced that its Lawful Access Program, which makes Handset’s remote collection capabilities available to authorized government customers, is now open to applications from national agencies in allied nations.

The program has operated in the United States since 2021. Each applicant is reviewed by Tellwright’s Responsible Use Council, must demonstrate the legal authority and independent oversight under which it will use the capabilities, and must agree to audit by Tellwright. Approvals are subject to U.S. export control licensing.

“Criminal networks and hostile states now communicate almost entirely on encrypted devices. Agencies with lawful authority to access those communications need the means to do it,” said Kendra Duchesne, president of Tellwright International. “The program gives them those means, under the law and oversight of their own countries.”

Tellwright does not disclose which governments take part in the program.
